Cost-effective Disposable Glove Option
While New Zealand continues to control its Covid-19 cases, this is not the case globally, in particular in the US and South America where new case numbers continue to increase. The demand for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) products continues to outweigh supply, and while clothing and mask prices are settled meantime, the global price of gloves continues to increase to unprecedented levels.
As a result of glove shortages, reject gloves and even used gloves are being repackaged and sold, with obvious risks to food and medical industries. Additionally, the world’s largest medical glove producer, Top Glove, has once again been accused of slave labour violations, and of July 15 2020, the US Customs has placed a detention order on all imports from Top Glove.
Eagle Protect is working hard to maintain glove, non-woven and PE inventory needed by our New Zealand customers, all sourced from our regular suppliers with quality control systems in place.
As a solution to the ongoing glove shortages and price increases, we have sourced an alternative and more economically priced glove, the STRETCHPoly.
These gloves are a superior barrier substitute for Vinyl disposable gloves, which can rip frequently resulting in more waste. Read more why we don’t recommend Vinyl disposable gloves and how to reduce the environmental impact of your gloves.

The STRETCHPoly glove is FDA food compliant, is a comfortable and lightweight stretch polyethylene, and is suitable for light food processing or for extra staff requiring interim glove protection.
These gloves are available to purchase mid-August, and we currently have samples available. Contact us now if you would like to trial.
